Yugoslav Series [No.] 1. For the Under Secretary. Your No. 9, January 2, 4 p.m. Foreign Minister Nintitch3 tells me intrigues for Fotitch’s removal are traceable mainly to Croatian extremists in the United States and considerable pressure even by open cables has been brought to bear on Croat element in the Yugoslav Government. He therefore welcomed your confirmation of his own high opinion of Fotitch and said he would see to it that Fotitch was not removed.
