The Minister to the Netherlands Government in Exile (Biddle) to the Secretary of State
[Received 5:30 a.m.]
Netherlands Series 13. Referring to Minister Loudon’s January 21 conference at the Department18 in presence of certain General [Page 58] Staff officers, Netherlands Prime Minister Gerbrandy wishes me to state that the suggestions the latter made on that occasion concerning the composition of forces for Curaçao and Aruba are acceptable to his Government.
- Memorandum of conversation not printed. The Army’s estimate of the force to be sent to Curaçao and Aruba was about 2,500 officers and men, the great majority being technical troops, etc., only about 900 being purely infantry. (856 B.20/72)↩
