52. The Department is of course extremely interested in the purpose of Sir Stafford Cripps’ proposed visit to India33 and in the reception accorded his offer. You are requested therefore to transmit by telegraph with the least possible delay all information which you may be in a position to obtain regarding the proposed formula and the Hindu and Moslem reaction thereto.
