My 480, September 28, 11 p.m., and 490, October 2, 3 p.m. Diario Oficial October 20, publishes 2087, dated September 29, creating a National Petroleum Committee, composed of the Director of the Department of Mines and Petroleum of the Ministry of Fomento, the President of West India Oil Company and the Manager of Copec. The decree provides that this committee shall determine Chile’s needs [Page 182] for petroleum products, indicate what types shall be imported and collaborate with the Petroleum Supply Committee for Latin America at Washington, with a view to combining transportation and port facilities for all petroleum imports.
