The High Commissioner of Free French Africa44a confirms radio broadcasts from New York that Vichy forces have established wireless station and bases at N’Guimi and Zinder, Niger Colony, and that German forces are now occupying Murzuch in Libya. He believes that an attempt may be made to cut the line of supply from Nigeria to Egypt through Fort Lamy and El Fasher. He says that the Free French forces will defend the Chad but have very little equipment.
