The Minister Resident in Iraq (Knabenshue) to the Secretary of State
[Received November 10—9:45 a.m.]
72. Referring to the Department’s telegram number 39, November 9, 1 p.m. The present status of proposed education law was reported [Page 554] in my despatch No. 1427 dated November 2, sent by pouch on that date to the following effect: I sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on October 16 in the sense suggested in the Department’s instruction September 14. In the meantime the British Ambassador acting upon instructions from London is giving full support to my representations. I am, therefore, hopeful of a reasonably satisfactory solution.
