Department’s 177, June 29, 6 p.m. If you have not already made the approach suggested in the Department’s telegram under reference it is desired that you convey the Department’s message to the Foreign Minister,30 that you present it emphatically, and that you ask for an approximate date on which a reply may be expected. If you have already made the suggested approach, the Department desires that you endeavor to impress upon the Foreign Minister the importance which this Government attaches to this question and ask when this Government may expect a reply.
