Referring to Legation’s telegram No. 35, May 19, 2 p.m. Would it not be desirable to give consideration to direct approach to Wallenberg through the Legation, Stockholm, for identification of German interests referred to? This information might permit investigation by Department’s representatives in Germany of possible official connection. Wallenberg’s local representative is still without information.
Referring to the Department’s No. 20 of May 21, 2 p.m.; the various Canal Zone establishments and the Legation habitually cooperate in such matters without special instruction.
