7. The additional 2 days granted the South American Development Company expire Wednesday. The Ecuadoran Ambassador telegraphed his Government yesterday urging a further extension. Luke44 has been requested to reiterate his request for an extension. In the event that it has not been granted, you should call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and request that favorable consideration be accorded, setting forth that Tweedy has come to the United States for the specific purpose of discussing the matter with his company so that a decision may be taken.
