The Ambassador in Brazil (Caffery) to the Secretary of State

50. Pimentel Brandao6 informed me last night that Cantilo has advanced the idea of a joint Argentine-Brazilian representation for the postponement of the Pan-American Conference at Lima on the grounds that it follows too closely after the Buenos Aires Peace Conference,7 et cetera. Brandao replied that Brazil did not desire to take any initiative in this matter.
