Department’s 498, December 19, 3 p.m.86 The Brigade Headquarters of the Second Marine Brigade and the Sixth Regiment of United States Marines which were sent from San Diego to Shanghai in August last for temporary duty as a reenforcement to the Fourth [Page 62] Marine Regiment already there, are to be withdrawn and are due to sail from Shanghai on board the Navy transport Chaumont on February 18.
Please informally inform the Foreign Office of the foregoing.
