437. In the light of your 710, August 3, 10 a.m.,19 and your mail despatch No. 860, July 28, just received, the Department assumes that, notwithstanding the British Government’s decision reported in your 640, July 15, 2 p.m., there may be under consideration proposals which would involve assistance by the Exports Credit Guarantee Department, as indicated in UP press dispatch from London of July 31. The Embassy will of course keep the Department currently and fully informed of any developments in this connection.
