“47, July 2, 11 a.m.

Your June 29, 4 p.m. I am reliably informed that Ma Chan Shan’s command has made contact with revolted troops and there is fighting [Page 455] going on in southwest Jehol with Chinese in control of some localities, Police detachments from Mukden are reported to have been sent south evidently to help maintain order behind disturbed zone.”
