7. Department’s 8, June 14, 6 p.m. Report of revolt inexact or at least premature. [Franco?] appears to be firmly in control. Although there is no outward manifestation thereof there is considerable uneasiness in army circles as well as among populace over Chaco situation [Page 719] which is so involved with internal political conditions that any conjecture as to the outcome would be premature at this moment.
