Reference Embassy’s 1468 to 1470, October 19, 4 p.m. The Chinese Ambassador states in confidence that he saw Delbos49 yesterday regarding the prohibition of transit shipments through Indo-China, and pressed for a reconsideration of the matter by the French Government, stating that it was “a question of life and death for China”. Delbos gave Wellington Koo to understand that he would ask Chautemps50 to have the matter considered again by the French Ministers dealing with national defense.
