Your 211.96 In reply to a question in Parliament this afternoon regarding bombings of Deutschland and Almeria Eden stated “In the course of an interview which I had with the German Chargé d’Affaires this morning I asked him to represent to his Government the earnest hope of His Majesty’s Government that the German Government would take no action which would render the present grave situation graver still”.

I have an appointment at Foreign Office at 7 this evening and will cable again shortly.
