14. Reference Nanking telegram April 25, 2 p.m.,97 reporting information regarding Szechuan received from French Legation representative. Reports received from Chengtu indicate situation that area much improved due to the arrival reenforcements. Some Americans have evacuated and they have sufficient motor transportation to evacuate remainder if necessary but they consider no danger surprise attack and probably will remain for the present. Repeated to the Legation and Nanking.
