221. The British Minister, Sir Alexander Cadogan, has received word that his credentials as Ambassador are being forwarded to him via Siberia. His present plans contemplate trip to Chungkiang [Chungking?] thence to Nanking arriving there latter part of June at which time he will present his credentials. Pending formal presentation of credentials the status of mission here will remain a legation.
