14. The Soviet Embassy has confirmed reports that an agreement for the sale of the Chinese Eastern Railway was reached last night and has stated that the press reports of the terms thereof are substantially correct. The agreement is subject to confirmation by the governments concerned and certain minor details remain to be adjusted. It appears, however, that the sale will now [be] definitely consummated.
