41. Embassy’s telegram 27,37 Foreign Office informs the Embassy as follows:
- (1)
- Notes regarding French Zone of Morocco and Tangier Zone were exchanged with the French yesterday in London.
- (2)
- Arrangement is not to come into effect until a date to be fixed later by mutual agreement.
- (3)
- Foreign Office states it will not consent to making the agreement on the French Zone effective except simultaneously with those on the Tangier Zone and Spanish Zone.
- (4)
- Agreement on the Tangier Zone must be approved by the Tangier Legislative Assembly and the Tangier Committee of Control under the Statute of 1923.38
- (5)
- The agreement on the Spanish Zone has not yet been reached.
