The Chargé in Ethiopia (Engert) to the Secretary of State

218. Department’s 129, December 9, 5 p.m. Dr. Lambie, Secretary of Ethiopian Red Cross, informs me Seventh Day Adventist Hospital at Dessie was regularly incorporated in the Ethiopian Red Cross and registered in Geneva as such.
Also so incorporated and registered Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Presbyterian Mission Hospital and Leper Hospital of Sudan Interior Mission all three at Addis Ababa.
Likewise Seventh Day Adventist Hospital at Debra Tabor but no Americans working there at the present time.
Clinics at Gore, Sayo and Soddu are not affiliated with Red Cross because too far from the front.
Dr. W. H. Hockman of the Presbyterian Mission is in Chargé of ambulance No. 1 at Dagabur on the Ogaden front. Geneva was notified. F. L. Russel of the same mission is volunteer Red Cross worker at Dessie.
