Washington, June 5, 1934—8 p.m.

44. Your 57, June 5, 10 a.m.⁵ The President today sent a special message to the Congress⁶ requesting legislative authorization to give to the Haitian Government a portion of Marine Corps material and a bill will be introduced in both Houses of Congress within the next few days to authorize the President to make the gift.⁷

You will be advised immediately the bill is enacted into law.
