130. Your 228, September 17, 7 p.m. and 229, September 18, 1 p.m.42 The following instruction has today been sent by cable to the American Ambassador in Buenos Aires in order that the substance thereof may be communicated by him to Dr. Saavedra Lamas:

You may feel it desirable to inform the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the contents of this instruction. Please reiterate to him the deep satisfaction of this Government occasioned by the effective cooperation between Brazil and the United States throughout the course of these negotiations and the gratification which this Government has been occasioned by the assurances conveyed through you that the Government of Brazil will determine upon a policy similar to that of the United States with regard to the Chaco problem.
