120. Minister of Finance yesterday issued a decree suspending application of tax on remittances by private persons, as well as a decree modifying approximately as follows exchange regulations reported in [Page 755] my telegram number 118 of November 29. Exchange derived from export of produce not regularly exported and foreign currency notes may be freely negotiated, while exchange operations of private persons may be freely effected. Exchange Control Committee attending only to applications from private persons not exceeding 200 pesos per month. Authorized exchange dealers shall declare all above transactions to Control Committee.
