36. The Singer Sewing Machine Company strike was settled in a conference on the night of February 8 through the good offices of the Director of Police of Kanagawa Prefecture. The company reports that it made no concessions with respect to the objects for which the agitation and strike were first started. Dismissed strikers are to be reemployed after individual interviews excepting those who have committed criminal acts. Full report by mail.25
