92. Department’s telegram No. 35, June 14, 6 p.m.13 “Minister of Hacienda has declared officially that, in accordance with the decree laws promulgated recently with respect to the organization of the State Bank, the Central Bank of Chile shall continue as before to be governed by its own laws and statutes performing the same functions which it had by virtue of its organic law. Its resources (patrimonio) shall continue independent of fiscal resources and also of the resources of the State Bank, and shall not be confused with them.”
The decree laws referred to in the first sentence of the foregoing statement are, as far as can be ascertained, those mentioned in my telegram 89, June 14, 5 p.m., but they have not been promulgated as stated by the Minister of Hacienda.
