75. My telegram No. 69, February 18, 3 p.m.65 I learn from Japanese general that last night Japanese military commander sent to Chinese military commander demands for withdrawal with time limit. Press agencies this morning publish demands which are similar to those told me yesterday by Japanese Consul General and reported in my telegram. Japanese Consulate General states news agencies reports substantially correct and one translation will be ready by 3 o’clock this afternoon.
