The Minister in Switzerland ( Wilson ) to the Secretary of State

172. My 171, September 29, 11 a.m. Assembly adopted resolution and report of Third Committee this morning.

[Paraphrase.] As of possible interest to you, Grandi considers that although a very different kind of truce would have been preferable, a really valuable step in establishing confidence has been taken. Moreover, he is impressed by the conciliatory attitude of certain Governments which, at the start, were clearly reluctant to take any step and he is satisfied that his negotiators accomplished what was possible. [End paraphrase.]
