The Minister in Switzerland (Wilson) to the Secretary of State
[Received September 11—10:09 p.m.]
124. My 121, September 10, 9 p.m.54 Danish delegation has introduced a resolution of which the positive part reads as follows:
“The Assembly begs the Council to bring its influence to bear on the Governments attending the said Conference in order that they may give proof of their firm desire to bring about a successful conclusion of the efforts to insure peace and to reestablish mutual confidence by abstaining, pending the final result of the Conference, from any measure having as its object an increase of the actual present level of their armaments and from causing thereby an increase in their budgets.”
The Italian delegation is not satisfied with this form and desires in this connection direct reference of this matter to the Third Committee for discussion.
