271. Your No. 268, October 23, 8 p.m. I had an interview with the Prime Minister this evening. He told me that the matter had never been presented to him in the way in which I outlined it on the basis of your telegram. Henderson59 is out of London but Mac-Donald will take the matter up with him directly and in detail next Monday, when you may expect further word from me.
