My 377, December 14, 1 p.m.31 General Tapia, Chief of the President’s Military Staff, tells me that according to his information [Page 590] Sandino is endeavoring to purchase a farm near Merida on which to live and that he finds difficulty in securing the purchase money. General Tapia says he has no information whatever that would indicate Sandino is planning to return to Nicaragua.
