52. Referring to the Legation’s telegram of April 15, noon.26 The Minister for Foreign Affairs informed me last night that yesterday the Mexican Ambassador had requested permission for Sandino to pass through Guatemala from Salvador to Mexico; that this permission was granted and that Sandino will be escorted through Guatemala, precautions being taken to prevent any demonstration whatever.
Repeated to Nicaragua, Honduras and Salvador.
