151. Your 50, October 10, noon. Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs tells me that my representations were forwarded to Minister of Hacienda who assures Foreign Office that he will make changes in law which will save the United States interests from injury. The answer is somewhat indefinite but hopeful. I will watch developments.
