For Lassiter. Your telegram May 26, 10 p.m. Please continue to send in reports as detailed as possible covering all incidents such as you have reported. Mr. Stimson and Mr. Dennis3 are working continuously on this matter; early next week they expect to be able to make a complete report based on all data available here. We all appreciate fully the difficulties and embarrassments of your position as well as the dangers which are inherent in the local situation and at earliest possible moment I shall give you decisions on policy. Please rest assured that all phases of the problem are receiving most earnest and active attention.
