My Dear Mr. Secretary: With reference to my letter of the 7th instant, I hasten to let you know informally that I am just in receipt of a further telegram from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in regard to the Lausanne Conference. Lord Curzon informs me that, in view of the urgent representations which have been made as to the desirability of as early a meeting of the Conference as is possible, he has accepted the date of November 20th and hopes that final arrangements may now be made for that day.
