497. My 480, December 6, 4 p.m. In spite of release accomplished or promised of all foreigners, diplomatic body refused to dissolve international commission, simply notifying Foreign Office that commission would not leave for Honan at date arranged and adding that diplomatic body still viewed “with great anxiety and concern the continued danger to their nationals residing in Honan” and expressing hope “that there will be no relaxation in the efforts of the Chinese authorities to return the Province to a state of peace and security.”
