The President of the Federal Telegraph Company (Schwerin) to the Acting Secretary of State
[Received August 31 (?)]
Sir: I have the honor to advise concerning the contract between the Chinese Government and the Federal Telegraph Company of California that the Federal Telegraph Company of California and the Radio Corporation of America have entered into an engagement to finance and construct the several radio stations in China through the formation of a new company called the Federal Telegraph Company of Delaware which will be owned and controlled by the Federal Telegraph Company of California and the Radio Corporation of America, jointly.
All the original conditions of the Chinese contract are to be fully performed by the Federal Telegraph Company of Delaware.
I submit herewith copies in duplicate,18 numbers 1, 2 and 3, setting forth all the understandings between the Federal Telegraph Company of California and the Radio Corporation of America, with the earnest hope that the Department has no objection to the arrangements which have been tentatively made by the companies herein mentioned and that the Department will instruct the American Minister at Peking to extend to me all appropriate diplomatic support in my negotiations with the Chinese Government in obtaining the acceptance by that Government of the arrangements which I have made and which are set forth in the pamphlets herewith enclosed.
Very respectfully,
