Your 94, June 29, 3 p.m. Note just received from the Foreign Office states that the Italian Government having ordered that no sale Italian arms and munitions should occur in China, either to Chinese buyers or through their intermediaries of whatsoever nationality [Page 735] until the reestablishment in China of normal conditions with a single government, it experiences no difficulty in extending such declaration to apply also to the importation of arms, munitions and accessories in China including the various settlements and concessions therein.
