56. My 44, May 2, 10 a.m.⁵⁶ Am unofficially informed by Foreign Office that Brazilian Government accepts resolution presented by Western Telegraph Company on February 7th last⁵⁷ and that official confirmation will be sent me in a few days.⁵⁸

58. The Chargé was officially informed on June 24 that the Brazilian Government accepted the renunciation of preferential or exclusive rights enjoyed by the Western Telegraph Company in Brazil. The Executive Decree authorizing the renunciation was issued on July 25, 1922.
