Memorandum by the Secretary of State of a Conversation with the Nicaraguan Minister (Chamorro), August 3, 1922

The Minister of Nicaragua called attention to the memorandum from the Secretary, under date of October 27, 1921,80 referring to the boundary dispute with Honduras and suggesting that there should be an arbitration by the Chief Justice of the United States. The Minister said that Nicaragua had accepted the proposal and inquired as to the attitude of Honduras. The Secretary informed him that Honduras had not yet accepted. The Minister asked whether Honduras could not be again approached. The Secretary said he would review the correspondence and see what could be done in the matter.
