Department informed that Thomas Cook & Son, London, are authorized by British Government under certain conditions to forward limited sums of money to British or Allied nationals in Russian Poland under German occupation. Please ascertain and report exact channels used for forwarding of these remittances, especially whether payments have to be made through a bank in Germany as the Department understands is the case. How are payments effected in Poland and how are receipts from payees obtained and returned to London?
