My Dear Mr. Ambassador: I have not heard from you since our conversation in regard to the Lusitania case. I hope that you have been able to accomplish something. It is imperative that we should reach a speedy settlement of this controversy for the reasons which I stated to you when we talked the matter over. I hope that a conclusion may be reached within a very few days.
