(Mr. Root directs Mr. O’Brien to informally apprise the minister for foreign affairs that both Houses of Congress have unanimously [Page 516] passed the bill authorizing the acceptance of the invitation to the Tokyo Exposition and the expenditure of $1,500,000 for appropriate participation by the United States.
Mr. Root also directs Mr. O’Brien to announce that the Senate has confirmed the treaties regarding trade-marks, copyright, and patents in Japan and Korea.)
