Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 7th instant, transmitting, by instruction from his excellency the [Page 893] minister of foreign affairs, a note acquainting this Government with the measures that have been adopted and were deemed indispensable to insure the restoration of order and safety in Morocco in consequence of the unforeseen outbreak at Casablanca.
The note verbale, also transmitted by you with the above, is intended to bring the particulars of these events to the department’s knowledge.
