Mr. Secretary of State: I have the pleasure to give herewith copy of a telegram which I have this instant received from His Excellency Tevfik Pasha, conceived in these terms:
Mr. Terrell has addressed to me two notes to express his satisfaction at the conduct observed by our authorities during the late disorders, and in particular renders homage to the efforts which they have put forth for the protection of the life and the property of the missionaries and American citizens at Harpoot, Marsovan, Aintab, and Marash.
