Sir: I have the honor to inform you that I am in receipt of a communication from Her Majesty’s principal secretary of state for foreign affairs, stating that a telegram has been received from Her Majesty’s consul at Apia, dated the 6th ultimo, to the effect that the consuls of the treaty powers have unanimously accepted a tender of $1,744 for the completion of the survey of the Samoan land commission, and that the work will commence at once.
