American Bible Society, Levant Agency,
Bible House, Constantinople,
September 12, 1892.
Dear Mr. Newberry: It gives me very great
pleasure to inform you that I have this morning received a telegram from
Alachan, saying that the illegal restrictions upon our business in that
place had been removed.
Allow me, Mr. Newberry, to thank you most heartily and sincerely for the
energy and efficiency with which you have attended to this case, and for
the happy result which has now been reached. I only hope that we may
have no further occasion to appeal to the legation in regard to cases of
this nature.
I remain, yours, faithfully,
W. N. Bowen,
Agent of the American Bible Society.
