Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your instructions by telegram of the 3d instant, which was received by me per steamer from La Libertad on the 6th instant.
[Page 97]Anticipating these instructions, I had the honor to make a report to you as full as possible in my dispatch No. 150 of August 29, 1890, concurrently with that of Consul-General Hosmer’s No. 243 of the same date. If any additional facts, however, come to my knowledge in relation to the same matter, I shall promptly make you acquainted with them, and shall obtain an affidavit of facts from Captain Pitts, commander of the Pacific Mail steamer Acapulco, when that vessel returns to the port of San José.
