Sir: Your No. 169, of the 25th ultimo, has been received. It presents a new regulation by the Sublime Porte for the storage of petroleum, and gives copy of your protest of January 20 last, to the minister for foreign affairs, respecting the subject.
In approving your course and awaiting further developments with interest, I can do no less than say that the Department commends your energetic and timely action.
