Sir: I have to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch of the 21st of June last, No. 120, giving me a copy of a note of the 17th of that month from Mr. Drouyn de Lhuys, in reply to yours correcting the statement made by the minister of state, concerning your representations upon the subject of Mexican affairs. You will pardon the delay which has occurred in making this acknowledgment, and which has been unavoidable.
